NI Representatives Attend Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) Aviation Summit

From April 24 – 26, 2024 during the 2024 AAAA Aviation Mission Solutions Summit held at the Gaylord Rockies Hotel and Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado, NI was represented by Bill Baker, our Vice President and Mike Sutterfield our Program Manager both of NI’s Government Services Division. NI is a long-standing Corporate Member of AAAA. This annual summit held by AAAA is the only opportunity for the entire Army Aviation Community to gather in one place at one time focused solely on Army Aviation issues. There are opportunities to network, be recognized, have our voices heard, and support our soldiers and their families.

During the Summit, NI teamed with Peduzzi Associates, Ltd. (PAL), Pilatus Aircraft, Ltd., and Canyon AeroConnect to provide a hospitality suite where friends and associates could gather for networking, meetings, and business development discussions.

Highlights of Bill Baker and Mike Sutterfield’s meetings included those with owners, senior management, and representatives of Farmbox, Absolute Logistics, Delta Solutions, RK Mechanical, the Arkansas National Guard, Collins Aerospace, RMCI, Digiflight, Tenax, PSI, Odyssey Consulting, VIAVI, EAA Tools, and Summit Aviation exchanging company capability information and discussing the potential for future teaming and other related support opportunities.

As Mike Sutterfield is the Vice President for Scholarships of the Aviation Center Chapter of the AAAA, and he and Bill Baker both serve on the Aviation Museum Board, they both attended the Scholarship and Museum breakfast during the event as well as the social hosted by the Enterprise Economic Development Board.

Additionally, they both were able to meet with Ashely Behrens, a Partner of Homeland Development (HLD) Solutions and her husband to discuss the status of the ongoing Dozier Road Project being developed as a joint use commercial and residential development adjacent to the CSM Bennie G. Adkins Veterans Home being completed in Enterprise, Alabama. The home is scheduled to open September 13, 2024, and is designed to house 174 veterans. Bill Baker was instrumental in writing the winning proposal and networking within the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure Enterprise was selected for this facility.

Bill Baker and Mike Sutterfield had a fortunate opportunity to meet with Rusty Walker, owner and operator of FarmBox Foods https://farmboxfoods.com/ and have him give them a tour of their manufacturing facility and see some of their systems in operation near Denver, Colorado.

Rusty Walker stressed the Farmbox Foods mission – striving to change the way the world farms by connecting communities to sustainably sourced, locally grown food, year-round. With a focus on producing environmentally conscious and future-oriented food systems, we seek to end food inequality with our innovative and eco-friendly farms. NI is teaming up with FarmBox Foods to further develop opportunities for global use of their products and services. Highlighting their discussions is the teaming arrangement between FarmBox Foods and a non-profit organization Playing for Change developing schools throughout Africa. Playing for Change was created to inspire and connect the world through music. The idea for this project came from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. This collaboration is being funded by the Walton Family and Little Ceasars Pizza.
