Navigator International, LLC (NI) Performs Exceptionally During Its 2023 ISO 9001:2015/AS9100D Surveillance I Audit

Since 2019, the NI Management Team has been ISO:2015 Certified. International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification is a process where a third-party body assesses an organization’s Quality Management System against the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard. The standard sets guidelines for organizations to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory expectations and enhance customer satisfaction. The certification is applicable to organizations of any size and type and can bring benefits such as improved efficiency, cost savings, and customer relationships.

Being heavily involved in the aerospace sector, in 2022 the NI Management Team additionally sought and achieved AS9100D Certification. AS9100D certification is a quality management system certification for the aerospace industry, based on ISO 9001, but with additional requirements related to safety and reliability. It is published by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and covers the design, development, production, installation, and servicing of aerospace products. It is verified by an independent third-party certification body that audits the compliance of the organization with the AS9100 standard requirements.

On August 29, 2023, members of NI’s Management Team underwent its 2023 ISO 9001:2015/AS9100D Surveillance I Audit. NI’s Management Team has been well prepared by our quality management consultant, Paula Taft of P3 Alliance, LLC, coaching NI’s Process Owners, participating in our Strategic Planning Group and Management Review telecons, and performing internal audits.

All four Process Owners – Al Patterson, NI’s Chairman/President (Quality Management System), David Patterson, NI’s Chief of Staff (Human Resources), Hakan Yilmaz, NI’s Director of Operations (Contract/Program Management), and Shannon Buggeln, NI’s Contracts Manager (Business Development) were all ready to present process evidence to confirm compliance and effectiveness during the audit.

Kris Norlander of KSQA, an independent third-party certifying body performed the ISO 9001:2015/AS9100D Surveillance I Audit. In addition to the Quality Management process, half of the operational processes were audited during Surveillance I. The operational processes included Contract/Program Management and Business Development, and subsequently Hakan Yilmaz and Shannon Buggeln represented NI in an exceptional manner. There were zero identified nonconformances.

On October 18, 2023, NI received its re-issued Certificate of Registration for ISO 9001:2015/AS9100D Certification valid through August 20, 2025. This is confirmation that NI has maintained operations and committed to their Quality Management System.
